Another older neighborhood with houses built when Nevada was as far as Colorado Springs went, is East Colorado Springs - Village Seven, Rustic Hills. Strip malls have come into their own in this section of town and downtown is a short drive away. The quaint thing about the east side is the names of the streets - enchanted, whimsical, merry, daybreak, lancing, potter, splendid, sod house, wandering, carefree, teardrop, inspiration ... to name just a few.

The homes are older, and more affordable however here you will also find the 4000 sq ft homes on 1/2 to 1 acre lots as well, when this side of town used to be farm land. New builds are available and building continues. Don't miss the Citadel Mall - this huge 1,000,000+ sq.-ft. shopping centre also has such diverse retailers as Dicks Sporting Goods and the Burlington Coat Factory, JC Penneys and more.
Not only home to many, many businesses and industrial parks, East Colorado Springs also holds a number of community events and activities such as the Colorado Springs Flea Market and Colorado Balloon Classic, which is an annual event held over Labor Day weekend and which brings hot-air ballooners from all over the country.
For the golfers there is Patty Jewett Golf Course which is an 18-hole championship course. It is also the third oldest golf course west of the Mississippi
