Divide sits above the 9,165-foot Ute Pass and residents in this community will tell you that Divide is the middle of the known universe. Divide is unincorporated and although it is growing, it is planned in three areas: the town center, rural residential land parcels and the larger rural land parcels.
Divide is 25 miles west of Colorado Springs and has a lot of recreational opportunities including Mueller State Park, a 5,000-acre (55 miles) natural area, ideal for hiking, mountain biking and horseback riding, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing in the winter. An angler's delight are the lakes in this area. Ascend along a 4,100-foot trail to the summit of Pike's Peak from Crags Campground.
